Daily Affirmations of a Child Model, Day 2: My Voice Matters

By Eleaya Neveah

Good morning, and happy Monday! Mondays can feel a little heavy. The weekend is over, the alarm is loud, and the whole week is sitting there waiting. So today I picked words that help me walk in the door with my head up.

Today's Affirmation

My voice matters, even when it shakes.

I do not have to be the loudest person in the room to be worth listening to.

Say It With Me

  • My ideas are worth sharing.
  • I can raise my hand even if I am not 100% sure.
  • I can say "no thank you" kindly and still be a good person.
  • I can ask for help, and that is brave, not weak.
  • When I sing, speak, or laugh, I do not need to shrink.

Why I Need This One

In chorus, there is a moment right before you sing when everything is quiet. My stomach does a little flip every time. I used to think that flip meant I was not ready. Now I think it means I care.

It is the same on set and in class. Sometimes I know the answer and keep my hand down. Sometimes I have a question for the director and swallow it. Later I always wish I had just said it.

Nobody else has my exact voice. If I keep it quiet, the world never gets to hear it. So today I am going to use it, shaky parts and all.

Your Little Challenge for Today

Speak up one time today when you normally would stay quiet. Answer a question in class. Tell a friend what you really think. Sing in the car like nobody is listening. Then notice how it feels afterward.

Come back tomorrow for Day 3.

With all my heart, Eleaya Neveah 💖

A Note for Parents

Ask your child one question this morning and listen all the way to the end of the answer, without fixing or finishing it for them. Then say today's affirmation out loud together. It takes less than a minute, and it means more coming from you.
