Morning Affirmations for Kids Trying Something New (Day 5)

By Eleaya Neveah

Good morning, and happy Saturday! Saturdays feel wide open to me, like anything can happen. Today I am thinking about new things. A new dance move, a new song, a new place. New things can make my tummy flip, but they are also where the fun is hiding.

Today's Affirmation

I can be brave and try something new today.

New things feel big at first, and then they feel like mine.

Say It With Me

  • I am brave enough to try.
  • I do not have to be good at it right away.
  • I can ask for help when I need it.
  • I learn something every time I try.
  • I am proud of myself for starting.

Why I Need This One

The first time I do anything, I feel wobbly. The first time I learned a new K-pop dance, my feet went one way and the music went the other. I wanted to stop.

But I kept going. I slowed it down and did one step at a time. After a while my body just knew it. Now those are my favorite dances.

That is how it works with a new song in chorus and a new set too. Everything I love now was new to me once. So when something feels scary and new, I remind myself that it might be my next favorite thing.

Your Little Challenge for Today

Pick one small new thing today. Try a new food, learn one new dance move, or say hi to someone you do not know yet. Then come back tomorrow for Day 6.

A Note for Parents

If your child is about to try something new, tell them about a time you were new at something and felt nervous too. Let them know they do not have to be good at it on day one. Then read today's affirmation out loud together. For more words to share, see Dads, Say These 10 Things to Your Daughter Every Morning and Moms, Say These 10 Words Over Your Daughter Every Morning.
