The Words I Tell Myself Every Morning: Daily Affirmations for Kid Models and Actresses

Hi, it's Eleaya Neveah. 💖
I want to tell you something that people don't always see in the photos and commercials.
Sometimes I get nervous. Really nervous. Before a casting, my stomach does flips. I wonder if I'm tall enough, if my smile looks right, if I'll remember my lines. And sometimes I do everything I can, I leave that room so proud of myself... and then I don't get the part.
That used to hurt a lot. Some nights I felt like maybe I wasn't good enough.
But I learned something that changed everything for me: the voice that matters most is the one inside my own head. So every morning, I make that voice kind. I stand in front of my mirror and I say my affirmations out loud, even on the days I don't feel like it. Especially on the days I don't feel like it.
These are the words that carry me. I'm sharing them because maybe you need them too. (If you want the short list I say before school, read my 10 morning affirmations for kids with big dreams.)

When I wake up
- I am enough, exactly as I am today.
- I was made on purpose, for a purpose.
- I bring my own light, and nobody can shine it like me.
- I am ready to be seen. The right people will find me.
- I will get found. I will get discovered. My moment is coming.
When I'm nervous before an audition
First I take three big, slow breaths. Then I whisper:
- I prepared. I am ready.
- I don't have to be perfect. I just have to be me.
- They are not looking for someone else. They are looking for the right person, and it might be me.
- Whatever happens in that room, I am still proud of myself.

When the answer is "no"
This is the hardest part of being a kid model and actress, and nobody talks about it enough. You can do your very best and still hear "no." It doesn't mean you failed. It just means that one wasn't yours.
- A "no" today is not a "no" forever.
- Every "no" is teaching me and moving me closer to my "yes."
- My dream didn't change just because today was hard.
- I am allowed to feel sad, and I am allowed to keep going.

When I dance 💃
Dancing is my happy place. I love K-pop so much, and I dance all the time: in my room, in the kitchen, anywhere there's music. When I dance, I stop worrying about what anyone thinks and I just feel free. That feeling is the same confidence I try to bring to every set and every camera.
- My body is strong, and I can learn anything if I keep trying.
- Slow practice makes fast progress.
- I don't give up on the hard part. I repeat it until I get it.
That last one is so special to me because it's the reason we made KPop Mirror, a free K-pop dance practice app. I wanted something that helped me learn dances the way I actually practice: in front of a mirror. It plays the idols' real dance practice videos flipped like a studio mirror, so the moves face the same way you do. You can slow it down, repeat the part you keep messing up, and even dance full screen next to your own camera to see if you match.
Every time I finally nail a hard move, I remember that I can do hard things. If you love K-pop like me, try KPop Mirror for free and tell me the first dance you learned. I'd love to know. 🥹

To you, reading this
Maybe you want to model, act, dance or sing. Maybe you just want to feel braver at school. Whatever your dream is, I hope you remember this:
You don't have to wait to be discovered to know you are special. You already are.
Say something kind to yourself tomorrow morning. Then say it again the next day. Write your own affirmations. Start with "I am…" or "I will…" and put them where you'll see them every day: your mirror, your lock screen, your dance bag.
I'm still growing, still learning and still dreaming big, right alongside you.
With all my heart, Eleaya Neveah 💖
